9 weeks!

Sophie has had a busy few days! On Friday, we took her to a party for John's softball team, and everybody commented (like they always do) what a good baby we have, meaning she doesn't cry at all. Haha, they don't realize how hard we try to make it that way! It's funny how she's such an attraction for some people. This one girl I had never met in my life just came up and started talking to Sophie and wanted to hold her. I'm hoping she makes me some new friends in Florida, too!

Then on Saturday, we saw Sara and Rob on Sara's move down to Austin. We went to Mozart's for breakfast, and then took a short little walk. Sophie probably won't see her Aunt Sara again for a long time! I guess that's what the blog is for. Also on Saturday we went shopping at Easton with Ben and Whitney, and we got Sophie a cute little sun hat that she can wear in the baby carrier when it's sunny.
On Sunday, we went to Tipp City to have a Fathers' Day cookout with John's family from Oregon. There were lots of kids there, including three babies under the age of one! So Sophie fit right in. She spit up a lot that day!

Then yesterday, we took her to the hospital so the surgeon could see about her granuloma. It was a really frustrating experience! We got there and waited for an hour in the waiting room, which was full of lots of other little germy kids who of course all wanted to look at the little baby. Then when we finally went in, the doctor took a very brief look at Sophie's belly button and said she thought it was drying up and nothing needed to be done! But we thought it was just the crust from all the oozey stuff that comes out of it that she was seeing. Anyway, since we spent a month's stipend on health insurance for that, we're trying to see if we can get that refunded! Maybe we'll have it looked at again with a new doctor in Florida. We were upset after that, so we took ourselves out to dinner and Sophie was very good while we ate. Even after she woke up, she just looked around at things until we were done. One of the busboys asked us if she was single...funny, but also a little creepy! She slept for six straight hours last night, so she has a happy mommy today!
